Snapshots on a string.

As I watched my mom decorate her tree last night, I was thinking that "home" is never a specific town or house or room where the tree resides.

It's instead a series of moments we gather- like snapshots on a string, of the times spent with people we love most. The quietest moments that hold still the longest and echo the loudest in a quickly turning world. If you could collect one crucial thing in this life, let it be the moments, the snapshots, the collection of still points that make up "home", and hold them close in spaces that remain open when you need to return.

Hometown glory.

"I love snow for the same reason I love Christmas:
It brings people together while time stands still.
Cozy couples lazily meandered the streets and children
trudged sleds and chased snowballs.
No one seemed to be in a rush to experience anything other
than the glory of the day, with each other,
 whenever and however it happened."
-Rachel Cohn

I just wanted to pop in and wish you a very Merry Christmas. :)
I hope you're in a cozy, warm place remembering that without feeling overwhelmed, the pangs of nostalgia, seeing beauty, knowing real love or feeling a sense of fear, that life would be too easy.  Embrace it all.

"Round my hometown, memories are fresh.
Round my hometown, ooh the people I've met.
Are the wonders of my world, are the wonders of my world."

A few December things.

Good morning!

I thought I'd get us into the Christmas spirit a little. :)

Glitter for this glamorous season.
The season filled with dresses,
festive nights and candlelight......

The gorgeous combination
of rose and gold...

Christmas nostalgia.
Things that take us back to the magic that children feel during this season....

White.
Everything white......

Dreamy wintry cities,
villages, and towns.....

..... and this song by She and Him.

Colder weather.

Merry Christmas lovies.
I hope you're having a truly beautiful holiday surrounded by
love, light, sweets, and the comfort of home.

I just wanted to say that I am absolutely love The Zac Brown Band.  He has managed to pleasantly surprise me as I'm usually not a big fan of country but for some reason his music gives me that wonderful ache I often mention throughout this blog.  I was just introduced to this song this morning and immediately fell in love with it.... and possibly him?  Just kidding. ;)  Enjoy it, as it is lovely, and if you like it, click on the Zach Brown label at the bottom of this post and check out another post by him. <3

"When you leave, you begin to consider the possibility that,
in leaving the best you've had so far,
you are leaving the best
you will ever have."
-Eliot Periman

"Well it's a winding road
When you're in the lost and found
You're a lover I'm a runner
We go 'round 'n 'round
And I love you but I leave you
I don't want you but I need you
You know it's you who calls me back here

Oh I wanna see you again
But I'm stuck in colder weather
Maybe tomorrow will be better
Can I call you then
Cause I'm a ramblin' man
I ain't ever gonna change
I gotta gypsy soul
And I was born for leavin'

And when I close my eyes I see you
No matter where I am
I can smell your perfume through these whispering pines
I'm with your ghost again
It's a shame about the weather
I know soon we'll be together
And I can't wait till then
I can't wait till then"

Love love is all around.

"Christmas waves a magic wand over this world and behold,
everything is softer and more beautiful."
-Norman Peale

I just wanted to pop in and say Merry Christmas
and sweet dreams. :)

"So the story goes, so I'm told
The people he knew were
Less than golden hearted
Gamblers and robbers
Drinkers and jokers, all soul searchers
Like you and me
Rumors insisited he soon would be
For his deviations
Taken into custody by the authorities
Less informed than he.
Drinkers and jokers. all soul searchers
Searching for love love love
Love love love
Love love is all around

Father up above, why in all this anger have you fill
Me up with love
Fill me love love love
Love love love
Love love"

A few adorable things.

Hi guys.  I just wanted to mention a few adorable things that make my heart smile on this chilly evening...

Beautiful handmade wooden toys.

 Mustache on wheels:

Maple cloud on wheels:
Absolutely precious! They are perfect for babies to hold and play with, free of splinters and rough spots, meticulously carved into various creative, adorable shapes, and will obviously keep them busy. The designs will also will fuel the child's imagination, and you know I'm all for that. :) You can find them at sevenacretoys on Etsy.

Pie in a jar.

Pecan.

Apple.
I'm in love with all sweets  and these are such a yummy idea. Homeade pies in jars delivered to you?  Enough said. :)
More can be found at AllJarredUp, also on Etsy.

Blue holiday decor.
I love absolutely love blue decor this time of year...
(and the idea of a blue Christmas in general)

This thought:

This thought (the obvious romantic I am):

And this darling song I just discovered!  Ahhhh, the sweetest, most adorable song played by the cutest duo ever.  I've been sitting here melting into it writing this entry. :)

Have a wonderful night. :)
