Naked as we came.

This is one of my favorite songs by Iron & Wine, and as I sit curled up in my chair listening to it's soothing melody, I thought I might put it on the blog. :)  It's hauntingly beautiful and seeps in quietly, but once it does.... there's a danger in becoming addicted to his soft voice, and perfect lyrics.  So if you're feeling mellow tonight, just listen.....

"She says "wake up, it's no use pretending"
I'll keep stealing, breathing her.
Birds are leaving over autumn's ending
One of us will die inside these arms
Eyes wide open, naked as we came
One will spread our ashes 'round the yard

She says "If I leave before you, darling
Don't you waste me in the ground"
I lay smiling like our sleeping children
One of us will die inside these arms
Eyes wide open, naked as we came
One will spread our ashes round the yard."

"Let’s just be fabulously where we are and who we are. You be you and I’ll be me, today and today and today, and let’s trust the future to tomorrow. Let the stars keep track of us. Let us ride our own orbits and know that they will meet. May our reunion be not a finding but a sweet collision of destinies."
