Everlong.

August 1st.  Amazing.  I can't believe how fast this year is flying.  Before we know it, it'll be the holidays.  This admittedly makes me slightly nervous.  Is it me or is every year flying by faster?  If that's not lighting a flame underneath our bums (me at least) to get moving in the direction we'd like, then quite honestly, I don't know what would. ;)

This song doesn't particularly need an introduction given it's quite well known, but I'll do a small one anyway. :)  Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters doing an emotionally charged, acoustic version of Everlong to a clearly appreciative and smitten audience for their skin & bones album.

"Hello
I've waited here for you
Everlong

Tonight
I've thrown myself into
And out of the red, out of her head, she sang

Come down
And waste away with me
Down with me

Slow how
You wanted it to be
I'm over my head, out of her head, she sang

And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
Got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang

Breathe out
So I can breathe you in
Hold you in

And now
I know you've always been
Out of your head, out of my head, I sang

And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
Got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang

And I wonder
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
Got to promise not to stop when I say when"

"Cherish your visions
Cherish your ideals
Cherish the music that stirs in your heart,
the beauty that forms in your mind,
the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts.
For out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment,
of these, if you remain true to them,
your world will at last be built."
-James Allen
